Rangitataøya er ei lang linseforma øy i elvedeltaet til den forgreina Rangitataelva i Canterburyregionen på New Zealand, om lag halvvegs mellom Timaru og Ashburton. Øya er om lag 17 km lang og fem km brei på det meste. Ho er lågtliggjande og består for det meste av grøderikt jordbruksland.
Øya er ei av dei største deltaøyene i landet, og også den einaste som vert kryssa av riksvegsnettet på New Zealand, då State Highway 1 kryssar henne i den nordlege enden; og den einaste staden der riksvegen forlet båe dei to største øyene i landet.
Flyplassen Rangitata Island Aerodrome ligg like aust for brua til State Highway 1. Denne private flystripa er open for offentleg bruk.
Flystripa hyser også ei samling av eldre mikrofly, og delar av fly, flyskrog og andre ting av interesse.
