Ein nunatak (grønlandsk nunataq) er eit fjell som stikk opp eller har stukke opp gjennom ein isbre. Ein nunatak blir ikkje dekt av is fordi fjellet blir blåse bert for snø. Rundt fjelltoppen kan derimot isen vera fleire hundre meter tjukk.
Nunataktoppar er som regel bratte og spisse på form. Dette gjer at is og snø ikkje får feste, men dei held seg òg slik fordi isen ikkje er der til å gnura dei ned.
Nunatak er eit inuittisk ord som har vore brukt i europeiske språk sidan 1880-åra. I Noreg har Jostedalsbreen fleire nunatakar, med Lodalskåpa som den høgaste og best kjende.
