SSC-8 Novator, òg kalla 9M729 for sjølve missilet, er eit nytt russisk kryssarmissil som truleg bryt INF-avtalen[1] dersom missilet vert utplassert i operative avdelingar i Russland.[2] Det er ein variant av SSC-7 ISKANDER-K (9M728) med auka rekkevidde til over 500 km og opptil 6000 km. Missilet brukar fast brennstoff og navigerer som SSC-7 ISKANDER-K. Første prøveskyting fann stad 2. september 2015.[3]
Skuldingane om brot på INF-avtalen kom frå USA i 2017 etter at SSC-8 skulle ha vorte utplassert i Kapustin Jar.[4] Russland vil ikkje tillata USA å inspisere desse missila fordi USA ikkje tillet Russland ein tilsvarande inspeksjon på USA sine ubåtar.[5]
