John Leon «Bunk» Gardner (fødd 2. mai 1933) er ein amerikansk musikar som er mest kjend for å ha spelt i Frank Zappa sitt Mothers of Invention før gruppa vart oppløyst i 1969. Han speler treblåseinstrument og tenorsaksofon.

Gardner start å spele musikk sju år gammal då han tok pianotimar. Då han var tenåring start han å spele tenorsaksofon. I 1959 spelte han med Bud Wattles & his Orchestra på albumet Themes from the Hip. Seinare spelte han med Joanna & the Playboys i 1962. Seint i 1966 hadde Gardner blitt med Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention, der han spelte treblåseinstrument og tenorsaksofon. Han vart med på suksessen til the Mothers med albuma Absolutely Free og We're Only In It For The Money. Seint i 1968 vart broren Buzz Gardner med i the Mothers fram til gruppa vart oppløyst eit år seinare. Gardner spelte med Menage A Trois med Buzz og John Balkin. Seinare spelte han med Geronimo Black og the Grandmothers.

I 1980 vart Gardner og somme av dei tidlegare medlemmane i the Mothers of Invention samla og danna the Grandmothers. Dei spelte inn nokre album og kom saman att i 2002. Gardner har òg samarbeidd med Don Preston, eit bandmedlem i the Mothers, på eit par album og turnear.

Gardner spelar òg fløyte, pikkolo, klarinett, bassklarinett, fagott og bass- og sopransaksofonar.

Gardner og kona Bonnie gifta seg i 1977 og har to døtre.
