Blanda er ei elv på Island som renn frå sørvestsida av isbreen Hofsjökull og ut i Húnaflói ved Blönduós. Blanda er av dei lengste elvane på Island med ei lengd på om lag 125 km og har eit nedslagsfelt på om lag 2 370 km²[1]. Utspringet til elva ligg på om lag 800 meter over havet. Elva er ei av dei største lakseelvane på Island og på ein sommar fangar ein som regel nesten 3000 laks. Før elva vart demma opp i 1990 gjekk laksen nesten heilt opp til breen. Blanda vasskraftverk nyttar fallet i elva til å generere opp mot 150 MW med straum. [2]
