Avalonhalvøya, ei halvøy søraust på Newfoundland med hovudbyen St. John's avmerka.
Avalonhalvøya er ei halvøy søraust på Newfoundlandøya i Canada. Her bur størsteparten av innbyggjarane på Newfoundland, og her ligg også provinshovudstaden for Newfoundland og Labrador, St. John's.[1]
Halvøya har ei flatevidd på 9 220 km².[2]
Halvøya ligg nær Grand Banks, eit viktig fiskeområde. Fiskeindustri har lenge hatt ei viktig tyding her.
Ved den kanadiske folketeljinga i 2011 hadde ho 262 410 innbyggjarar, rundt 51 % av folkesetnaden på Newfoundland.
