Airdrie er ein by i Alberta i Canada, ikkje langt frå Calgary. I 2011 hadde byen eit folketal på 42 564 personar.[1]
Historia til byen går tilbake til 1891, då det blei bygd ein jernbanestopp her under bygginga av jernbanen mellom Calgary og Edmonton. Han blei kalla opp etter Airdrie i Skottland.[2] Det blei likevel ikkje bygd noko særleg meir her før i 1901, då det mellom anna kom til eit postkontor og ein butikk.[3] Dei neste åra kom det raskt til fleire matbutikkar, apotek, hotell og restaurantar. I september blei 1909 Airdrie erklært som by, og i 1974 fekk han byrettar.[4] Airdrie hadde ei folkeauke frå 309 innbyggjarar i 1959 til 1 442 i 1977. Sidan gjekk auken raskt, og i 1982 var innbyggjartalet 9 981. Dette kan delvis forklarast med at mange folk som arbeider i Calgary har flytta ut til Airdrie.
Airdrie har ein venskapsby i Sør-Korea, Gwacheon.
