James Stanhope, 1. jarl Stanhope PC (1673–5. februar 1721) var ein britisk statsmann og soldat som tente som statsminister mellom 1717 og 1721. Hen vart truleg best hugsa for tenesta si under den spanske arvefølgjekrigen. Han var òg den første britiske guvernøren på Menorca, som han erobra frå spanjolane, mellom 1708 og 1711.
