Askar Akajevitsj Akajev (kirgisisk Аскар Акаевич Акаев) (fødd 10. november 1944) er ein kirgisisk politikar som var president for landet frå 1990 til 2005, då han blei avsett i den såkalla Tulipanrevolusjonen. Han var den første presidenten i det sjølvstendige Kirgisistan.
Akajev blei opphavleg sett på som ein liberal leiar, men viste etter kvart fleire autoritære trekk. Etter nokre år ved makta byrja folk å klaga på offentleg korrupsjon og valfusk.
24. mars 2005 måtte Akajev flykta frå Kirgisistan etter at demonstrantar storma kontora hans i hovudstaden Bisjkek. 4. april sa han offisielt frå seg presidentvervet i ein underskriftsseremoni i Moskva.
