So I have an idea for a character that's been bouncing around my head for a while now.
The basic premise is that he's a pyrokinetic (can control fire) but he's also constantly emitting heat so his skin is hot and often glows from the heat. As of yet he has no way of consciously cooling his skin down.
He's entirely immune to heat but is fairly aware of his current temperature.
It's part of his character that he's a loving and caring person but he can't get near others for fear of doing them harm. He does accept that but he still wants to hang out with normal friends and family as well as his other metahuman friends and coworkers and be in public just like everyone else. His only problem is how can he make it safe for him to be around them.
On a good day his skin is around 300-500 F degrees but when he gets mad, in pain or in a serious fight it can reach temperatures of 3000 Fahrenheit.
My question is what problems would he have? Could he make some clothing that might withstand his more usual temperatures or even last upwards to some higher extremes?
Would he even be able to walk in a street or would the asphalt around him start to liquefy and act like mud to him?
Would he be forced to abstain from contact with normals? (Obviously he can't have any physical relations let alone touch).
Any thoughts, questions or ideas would be greatly welcomed :)
