Religion (frå latin religio, 'age, gudsdyrking')[1] er eit samanhengande trussystem som oftast inkluderer tru på ein eller fleire gudar og/eller overnaturlege fenomen. Religionar inneheld ofte ei spesifikk morallære og spesifikke seremoniar eller ritual for kontakt med det transcendente (overnaturlege). Myter og soger knytt til ein viss religion vert ofte klassifiserte som mytologi.[2]
