Samfoto biletbyrå representerer arkivbilete frå ei rekkje norske og nordiske frilansfotografar. Byrået har kontor i Oslo. Biletsamlinga omfattar meir enn 300 000 bilete; av desse er 250 000 presenterte på Internett (pr. nov. 2009).
Historie |
Samfoto blei stifta av ei gruppe fotografar i 1976, ut frå eit ønskje om å skape eit fotograf-styrt biletbyrå. Utover på 1980- og 1990-talet vart meir enn 100 norske fotografar knytte til byrået. I 1988 innleidde foreininga Norske Naturfotografer samarbeid med byrået, og i 1989 vart kvinnelege fotografar frå gruppa Hera med i Samfoto-arkivet. I åra 2000–2001 blei arkivdrifta lagt om frå distribusjon av fysiske bilete til digitale, og Samfoto-arkivet blei lagt ut på Internett.
