Rax er eit fjell på grensa mellom Nedre Austerrike og Steiermark i Dei nordlege kalksteinsalpane
Den høgaste toppen er Heukuppe på 2 007 m. Rax og fjellet Schneeberg, som ligg i nærleiken, vert kalla Wiener Hausberge. Frå Hirschwang ved foten av den nordaustlege sida av fjellet går det ei kabelvogn opp til om lag 1 500 meter høgd. Rax og Schneeberg er skild av dalen Höllental.
Kabelvogna Raxseilbahn i Hirschwang var den første kabelvogna i området som i dag er Austerrike (bygginga starta i 1925), og det høge platået er mykje besøkt.
