Reluctant Island er ei lita øy utanfor austsida av Horseshoe Island. Ho vart kartlagd av Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) i 1955-57. Ho fekk dette namnet fordi staden såg ut til å vere motvillig (reluctant på engelsk) til å bli rekna som ei øy, sidan ho ikkje var med på opp på karta til British Graham Land Expedition (BGLE) 1934-37 og vart kartlagd som ei halvøy av FIDS i 1948-50,
